Punks and Pinups is DIY all the way. WE ARE NOT A CORPORATION. Punks and Pinups was born from the California punk rock scene but is inspired by many types of music. Our customers are Old School Punk, Hardcore Punk, Grind, Crust, Oi, Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Ska, Reggae, Gothic, Metal, Skaters,Snowboarders,Bikers.

Traditionally,punk rock culture is not excepted by the main stream of America. Yes, the community has grown to larger numbers and you can now hear The Ramones, The Clash, and Rancid on the rAdio. You can buY Doc Martens and TUK creeps at the mall, but in general we are still a sub-culture that is looked down upon. Just because some corporations have found ways to get rich off the fashion and music that drives our culture does not mean we are gIveN credibility for our opinions. When we walk down the street we are still facing prejudicies about our clothes, our hair, our tattoos, and our piercings. We know we are not alone and that there are many sub-cultures in every society that face this same thing. In fact, we take pride in not fitting in and the very people that look down on us are the ones that gives us ammunition to be who we are. You have your "ideal americans" or "pretty americans" that stand up straight and are clean cut. They shops at american eagle or ambercrombie and finch and aspire to acquire a job that requires wearing a suit and tie. That is okay, they have their interests and we have ours. We dye our hair and have mohawks, we wear studs and spikes, we tatoo are skin, we get pierced. But our looks Do NoT mean that our opionions and thoughts are of less value. That doesn't mean we don't think about the important issues of our society. In fact that is quit the opposite. We can be just as educated and just as knowledgable and still listen to loud fast music. We can have positive values and contribute to our community and dress the way we dress. We are just gonna have more fun doing it. We can start up non-profit organization during the day and still listen to loud fast punk rock music at night. We care about our families and humanity and look like bums all at the same time.
